The Power of Group therapy/Coaching: The Web That Heals
When I first began my journey as a life coach, I was a strong advocate for one-to-one work.
There is such potency in sitting across from someone, entering the intimacy of that sacred space together, and watching transformation unfold in real time.
But since stepping into group coaching two years ago, I’ve witnessed a whole other dimension of healing — one that is communal, multidimensional, and deeply human.
The Magic of Shared Intention
There is something extraordinary that happens when people come together in a shared intention for growth. It’s as if an invisible web begins to weave itself between everyone in the room — a web with a sacred centre.
Each person becomes a mirror for another. Each story, a reflection. Each silence, an invitation.
There was a moment when one person’s breakthrough rippled through the whole group — laughter turned to tears, and tears turned to laughter again. It was as though the entire circle was breathing as one. The fire in the centre seemed to dance with us.
In that moment, I realised healing isn’t linear; it’s woven — and the web was alive.
From Individual Healing to Collective Transformation
We often think of “doing the work” as an individual path: hiring a therapist, journalling, meditating, healing our own wounds in private. And while there is incredible value in that, what many underestimate is the power of the circle.
In our hyper-individualised Western world, we have forgotten what it means to heal together — to be witnessed in our becoming, and to witness others in theirs.
In a group coaching or group therapy container, these two forces meet. Energy moves. Life force begins to flow again. People rediscover parts of themselves through the presence of others — laughter, tears, triggers, awkward silences, all become part of the alchemy.
Because within the discomfort, the mirrors, and the moments of resonance, the real work happens.
Discovering My Calling as a Group Facilitator
My own love for group work was born from my personal journey. Back in 2020, I completed a group facilitation training as an addition to my therapy and coaching credentials, but I didn’t step into that role right away.
It wasn’t until I found myself sitting around many fires, immersed in my own spiritual exploration, that I understood the power of the circle. The tears, the laughter, the raw honesty of being human together — it moved me in ways no individual process ever had.
It was there, by the fire, that I knew this was my calling: to create these spaces for others. Safe circles where people can explore, connect, and heal not in isolation, but in communion.
The Living Web of Transformation
Group coaching/therapy is not always comfortable. Sometimes, you meet your edges. You might feel triggered, impatient, or unsure.
But these moments are where the gold lies — opportunities to learn how you relate, how you listen, how you hold yourself in the presence of others.
And when you return to the same group each week, something even more profound unfolds. Trust deepens. Familiar faces become friends. The circle itself becomes a living, breathing organism — a web that holds, heals, and expands everyone within it.
This is why I love this work.
This is why I continue to create group coaching circles here in Oslo — spaces where people can come home to themselves, through the mirror of each other.
And for those who can’t join in person, I’m now opening online group coaching spaces, so you can experience this same depth of connection and transformation from wherever you are in the world.
If you feel called to experience this, I invite you to learn more about my group coaching offerings by booking a free discovery call here.
