My Journey

In 2023, my life took a transformative turn in regards to music. I attended a shamanic training. At the time, I was going through a heartbreak and withdrew into myself, barely speaking during the sessions or meals. My teacher pointed out that silence in a group can be a trauma response, which resonated deeply with me as I had struggled with dyslexia and speaking out in class during my school years. I felt able to speak in social environments, but when it came to the learning space, I felt muted. My heartache had reactivated this old trauma, leaving me feeling mute once again in an unfamiliar group setting.

Music has always been a part of my life. Growing up, my family and I would sing together on road trips and around the Christmas tree. I was in the school choir, but I never liked to be in the spotlight. As I grew older and moved out on my own in the world, my musical side faded into the background, emerging only once a year at Christmas with my family. My mother always encouraged me to return to my musical roots—piano, songwriting, choir—but I felt muted, unable to let that part of me be seen. My voice found solace only within the four walls of my bathroom, singing in the shower.

During the training, we were asked to find our "icaros"—a magical tune or lyric used to communicate with the spirit world. As we ventured into nature, I came across a magnificent pink flower whose beauty was otherworldly. To my surprise, this flower connected me to something beyond myself, and I found myself singing and whistling a perfectly refined song, as if it had been downloaded from the cosmos. I felt a profound connection to spirit and the beauty of all sides of love.

When we returned, our teacher asked if anyone wanted to share their icaros. To my astonishment, I volunteered. I sang and whistled my song, and the group was mesmerized. They were in disbelief because they had barely heard me speak, let alone sing. This moment changed my life. I no longer felt muted; I could finally express myself and be part of the group.

After this transformative experience, I co-founded "Priestesses of Sound" with a friend, and we began offering sound journeys that quickly became popular in Lisbon and surrounding areas. At the beginning of 2024, I embarked on a solo journey, creating sound journeys on my own, facilitating sound in medicine ceremonies, and attending private events.

Today, I integrate sound into all aspects of my work—whether coaching, Reiki, or retreat spaces. Sound has become an integral part of my life and the way I channel energy and spirit.
